ONWAVE is a digital magazine I created and ran from 2019 to 2022 as a university project. It started with one question: what happens to the internet when a new platform rewrites the rules? Those were the years TikTok went from a niche app to the center of online culture, and ONWAVE tracked that shift in real time, from viral dance trends and overnight creator fame to the way musicians, brands and whole industries learned to play by the algorithm.
The magazine covered internet culture, the creator economy, music and social media news, with a focus on why bloggers, TikTokers and influencers became so powerful, and what their rise meant for everyone else.
ONWAVE was presented as my final project for my bachelor's degree in Journalism and Communications. Running it meant working across every part of a modern media brand: writing and editing news and long-form articles, researching trends and analyzing media, editing video, producing and hosting a podcast, designing and building the website, and managing the magazine's social media channels.
